INDUSTRIE INTOUCH Thuringian Forest 2020
For the 7th year running, Köberlein & Seigert GmbH in the Thüringer Tor business park in Grabfeld opened its doors to the public. This time, of course, with strict safety measures in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Doors opened to INDUSTRIE INTOUCH visitors at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, with a surprise waiting for the visitors. A large machine on display in the foyer was separating screws and blowing them through tubes to a catching station. For the fascinated observers, this was an exciting taste of what was to come. A word of welcome was followed by a company presentation that was addressed at younger visitors in particular. The potential future apprentices had the chance to talk about their reasons for attending and their hopes and expectations from INDUSTRIE INTOUCH.
All expressed a great interest in the skilled jobs offered at the company. Visitors were then taken on a tour of the site in small groups. Our works manager Mr. Heusinger, together with our head of training Mr. Graßmuck and the departmental heads Mr. Schipotinin and Mr. Roth, showed the budding apprentices the areas of the company in which they could later train or complete a school placement. The tour ended with the highlight of the day: visitors were shown bin picking in action in a robot cell. Unlike in conventional feeding technology, components are not emptied and then separated. Instead, a robot reaches into a container with the help of camera technology and feeds individual parts into the process. Even under COVID restrictions – or perhaps because of them – this INTOUCH with a difference was a resounding success.
